All For One, One For All

I was scheduled to tutor today. So after work, I ambled over to my student's place. I arrived there a little earlier than necessary, so decided to drop by the little shop to grab a snack. I had in mind a sandwich, or perhaps some biscuits. As I wandered the aisles, nothing caught my eye...until I was walking out, and I spotted a bar of chocolate. Not just any bar of chocolate, though.

A 3 Musketeers bar.

That's right, a delectable bar of "whipped up, fluffy chocolate on chocolate".

But it's merely a Milky Way, I hear you cry. I assure you. A 3 Musketeers is not a Milky Way. A 3 Musketeers is bigger than a Milky Way.

Why yes, size does matter. And yes, I found myself delighted. For only a buck forty, I obtained a little piece of heaven.
Whoever says that money can't buy happiness is clearly allergic to chocolate.

3 Musketeers bars. I haven't found them elsewhere (and I refuse to purchase anything from Candy Empire, because their prices are exorbitant. Unless they have jaffa cakes, in which case, I'll have to rethink my principles), and it's so strange that I found it in a tiny neighbourhood convenience store! Now there's a great reason to look forward to tutoring! It shall be my weekly treat.*

Seriously, if you asked me to choose between a Mars Bar and a 3 Musketeers...well, that's just being discriminatory.

I am an equal-opportunity chocoholic.

The Mars bars, Kit Kats, Kit Kat Chunkies, Crunchies, Cadbury Dairy Milks and other assorted chocolates are not treats. They're necessities.

Speeding over the bumps in the road

I've been rather productive the past couple days. Granted, I could probably get more done if I stayed off the internet completely, but where's the fun in that?

Which reminds me. I still haven't even started on Goal #88 (Stay off the internet for 5 working days). I highly suspect that will be a tough one to accomplish. Besides, how am I supposed to sound the horn if I'm not logged on?

I really like today's affirmation.
My life continues to get easier all the time. Life is good!
That is oh-so-true. Yes, I hit a rut every now and again, and sometimes I encounter a head-on collision, which leaves me out of commission for quite a while. On the whole though? The tough times get easier, they really do. Isn't that just such a wonderful feeling?

Several things amused me today. One of which was reading Bunny's blog post about papercuts. That's right! I've bled for this project!

Uhm. Couple other things, but I can't remember what they are now.

Oh, and I did this on LJ, Facebook, googlechat and MSN. So I might as well do it here:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY VIX!!!!

Hmm. According to the vickster, I'm an 'adorable dork'.
I assure you: I am not a penis. Adorable or otherwise. ;)

Negativity!

I've been complaining a lot about a certain person in locked blog posts.

I guess I've been a little unfair. There is a lot to be done, and it is somewhat daunting to have so much piled on you right from the start. I guess I had high expectations, which...logically should have been met.

Oh well. She'll pick up soon enough. I hope.

Because I'm way too swamped to be picking up the pieces and tying up the loose ends for much longer.

The positive swing:
I'm really capable! I can juggle so much at once, and none of the balls have fallen.

Wow. I feel really good about myself.

I think I deserve a smoke break. First of the day!

I am easily amused

MSNing, emailing and talking on the phone - all with the same person.

Yes, I do have better things to do (e.g. work!), but it's things like this that make the workday easier.

Hey Bunny, I have a question for you.
Why didn't I get accepted into the School of Accountancy?

Drown or suffocate?

Busy busy day!

I love being so busy that there's always something to do, but not so swamped that you're drowning in quicksand.

Hmm. Do you actually drown in quicksand? Anyway.

Know what? I just realised that more than 60 days have passed since the start of the year. I don't have to write down my daily thanksgiving anymore.

Now there's something to be thankful for! But yes, there is much I am thankful for. I am thankful for the good things that are coming out of this tough time.

Happy moments:
- walking home. It's amazing what a 30-minute walk can do for the soul. Not so fun on the feet though, if you're not in comfy shoes.

- coming home to Calis

- having Son come home and take Calis out for a bit. It's good to see Son spending time with her

- having a bit of time to myself

It's the little things.

Quote of the day

"If I had to live my life again, I'd make the same mistakes, only sooner."

Sometimes the time just drags on

It's only Tuesday, and already I'm well knackered.
Then again, I don't quite get weekends proper to recuperate.

Today's affirmation? So very apt! "My body needs more tender self-care from me."

Is that a bit redundant - self-care from me?

No matter. I do need to take more care of myself. As such, I'm going to shower now and get to bed by midnight.

Today, I was thankful that I had homecooked food for lunch. As I did yesterday, and likely tomorrow as well. Sure beats cup noodles! (but not by much...)

Today's happy moments:

- hazelnut coffee is truly made of win

- homecooked lunch

- walk home, to happy music

- Calis being so happy to see me

- Vix helping me with that silly Excel thing

- Doof and I taking turns to start the hunt

Perhaps if I sleep soon, I won't be as tired tomorrow.

Glad I made it through the day, even though I had some moments where I thought I wouldn't.

Oh! And read Coraline, by Neil Gaiman. I thought I hadn't, but I had read it ages ago! But now I actually own a copy!
I don't think reading Coraline quite counts as a 'book a month' kind of book. Just as well I'm on Hope's Boy by Andrew Bridge now.

Good books, good friends, good coffee and the internets. My world is lookin' gooooood.

Avon Walk For Breast Cancer

Helping to spread the word:

A friend of mine wrote to me recently, asking for some support. She's taking part in a marathon in June in order to raise funds for breast cancer research. I made a small donation and told her that I'd spread the word.

I think even though times are bad, we can all still play our part and contribute to causes like these. No donation is too small, and every cent is appreciated. Click here to read more about her story and hopefully make a donation as well.

Time to earn those good karma points!

I need a massage

And I shall get one soon.

It was, all things considered, a good weekend. I nearly got into a car accident on Saturday - don't you love how cabbies are such excellent drivers? (Yes, that was sarcasm, tyvm)

So...I'm thankful I'm alive and well.

I'm also thankful that I am able to talk things out with my friends. Letting slight misunderstandings fester leads to bigger problems later on.

Happy moments:
- seeing mum

- seeing mum move her arm (even though I tease her that I didn't see it, and I want her to do it again)

- having dad listen to me, and understand me. I truly think that good things are coming out of this difficult time, and one of these things is that Dad and I are starting to listen to each other better, and we've grown closer

- the adventure in the rain, with calis

- seeing Calis' face light up after I bought her a couple t-shirts. Small things make her happy...and seeing her happy? The feeling is indescribable.

- catching loads of 'good' mice in Mousehunt

- discussing Mousehunt with the other Hunters

- getting Doof to sound the horn for me while I'm unable to get online

It's been a great month so far!

March!

A new level of joy is awakening within me. I feel new seeds germinating and sprouting. I am beginning to see the world with fresh and joyful eyes. I apply my new perspective to every task I perform, and everything goes well.

How the time flies when you're so busy. This month holds a lot of promise; we have a helper in, and she's proving alright so far. Plus, she can cook, so I don't have to worry about dinner ever again!

Well, unless I want to. :D
