Starting from August, there's a birthday in my family every other day, or so it seems.
In September, my Bro officially became an adult, my niece Nix officially became a teenager, and Sis S officially became...an older adult. Instead of three parties, we all went over to Sis V's place for a barbecue.
Thanks to the intarwebs, I now cannot think of 'barbecue', without Head Voice going "OMGWTFBBQ!!!"
But I digress. Bro-in-Law S manned the grill, as always, and turned out the best burgers and hotdogs ever. He loves food, and his philosophy is "Don't think, just eat!" Needless to say (but I'm saying it anyway), there's a tendency to overeat when he's around.
We had three cakes! THREE! Well, alright. Two cakes, for Bro and Nix, and 5 cupcakes for Sis S.
Last Saturday was Nan's birthday, so the family went out for seafood dinner. The seafood was decent, company excellent. For some reason, I couldn't really eat much. But I did enjoy the fried mantou dipped in the chilli crab gravy. Mmmm, chilli crab. I love that Nan was happy to see us all, and she got a lovely surprise too - Sis V and family took her out, and she wasn't expecting to see the rest of us. Don't you just love when surprises work out so well?
Next day was Sunday Brunch, at Chalk, which I've talked about before. Similar list, except that this time Bro was with us, and we didn't eat quite as much. But thinking of the menu now makes me want to go back again. I didn't have dessert this time round! But I did get a great breakfast, that lasted me the entire day, so it's all good. This was Sis and BIL's treat for Dad, but of course, the whole family got a great treat too.
Monday was Dad's birthday, so I treated the same group for dinner, just at the coffeeshop in the next block. Bro-in-Law S ordered, so of course, there was a LOT of food! But everyone enjoyed it, so that's always good. Adjourned to the homeground for Dadman's birthday cake.
Diet starts...really really soon.
And I have a suspicion that many posts have both of these tags. What can I say, the family likes to eat!
